YCNV In person Meetup 2025

Who came?
19 young carers and 14 staff came together from the following areas:
Sheffield
Gloucestershire
York
St Helens
Sandwell
What were we trying to achieve? (Aims of the day)
To relax, socialise and have fun
To meet new people
To find out about other groups and campaigns happening around the country
To build knowledge, skills and confidence
To identify issues important to the group members and plan a joint campaign focus for the year ahead
To agree next steps for keeping in touch
What now? Next steps
The young carers and young carers services are keen to meet up again, as well as use social media, YCNV website and email to keep in touch. We will have 3 more online meetups with young people to work on the campaign using the ideas above, or through other ideas we come up with along the way.
YCNV is currently funded by Sheffield Young Carers until September 2025, we are unsure whether funding can be secured to continue the network afterwards. Conversations will be had with other organisations to explore the future of YCNV. We will keep everyone posted on our website and Instagram
